It is always an honour when you get the added responsibility of photographing a friend and fellow photographers wedding, and in this case I had an another bonus too! Tanya, and her Dad, Mike are both very talented wedding photographers, while Tanya’s Mum Glynda is also a pretty good recreational photographer.

Tanya and Jorn were married in The Sacred Heart Cathedral. Monsignor John Carde, who is a very special man to many, including myself, performed the marraige rites, with his usual blend of warmth, wisdom and humour.

This weekend was special to me in many different ways. Being involved with three marriage celebrants who I respect and admire was one of the highlights, while having three great photography days in a row was also just a treat. The best part though, was that I had three weddings which were very different, but had all the key components, of love, warmth, family and fun. All three weddings I had looked forward to with anticipation, and I went home from all three weddings having enjoyed the experience of having captured some great moments on three very special occasions.

Tanya is a lovely personality, who is multi talented, and is also quite a character. Jorn comes from Germany, has adapted to Kiwi life exceptionally well, and even has a adapted a touch of typical New Zealand humour to his already warm personality. He is a great guy. We had fun during all parts of the photography, and especially in Parliament grounds, where we gained some pretty creative and different images, some of which had an aerial element to them!

It was then off to The Skyline, where the celebration, and some marvellous dancing ( You would expect nothing less as Tanya is a Dance Teacher!) continued well into the night.

Oh and for those of you wondering what Tanya and Jorn were doing sawing a log of wood? Well it is a German custom, and a custom that was heaps of fun too!
